Design is a form of art. Art is a form of expression. Design involves expression but expressing yourself, your goals and feeling fulfilled in something visually beautiful and compelling is a personal thing. When it comes to problem solving design can’t be so selfish. Design is not about you, you flipping narcissist. A good designer needs humility. But remember, humility isn’t a weakness. It doesn’t mean you’re being walked over or giving in to something. Last Wednesday night I attended Find Better Problems. Hopefully the first event of many, and a collaboration with Good for Nothing, SheSays & Hacker News London. Over the years it’s always been great to be able to extend the opportunity for an intern to come and join the team. The first time I went through this process was a real eye opener into how graduates dive into the world and led to some experiences which help me when giving advice to others wanting to get into the industry.
